Just got my first snow plow. Its a fisher minute mount 1 I'm told. The placard on the lift head says 'Speedcast Snowplow Fisher engineering Serial Number 131982 Model G.' I have plowed before in newer trucks with newer plows but I got this plow cause it was free and working, and it is the only one I could find that would fit on my 1978 Ford Bronco. I have the mount on the frame of the vehicle I have not put the plow on cause i need to straighten a few things out.
I was wondering if anyone has pictures of a similar unit that I can look at cause I need to mount the motor and all the hydralics and wiring this week. Sorry about the picture size, Ive never posted pictures on a forum before. Like I said Ilooked for quite some time for a plow to fit my truck but all the big names told me that they didnt have anything that went back passed 1980. By big names I mean BOSS, meyer, Western, Curtis, etc. So I put a post on a Ford Bronco forum that I am a member on asking for advice and I got a message telling me I could have this one for free if I came and picked it up. The only catch was that I live 1100 miles from the guys house. I went and got it anyways.
So now I need to get it mounted which is the easy part. The wiring and hydralics are going to be tough so any links and or advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Told me it was a minute mount. Either way I'm more worried about getting the lights wired up correctly so that when i turn on my headlights that the plow lights come on and not my headlights or running some kind of a toggle to get the plow lights on. I don't klnow how this system works to well as far as lighting. Everyone else I know has a Meyer or Boss that was installed at the plow shops here in town. When I went to my local fisher dealer he was trying to get me to do it myself cause he doesn't know how to do it either he says cause its such an old plow.

I agree with motorman007, just locate each side of the light and tie into your existing harness and add a toggle, as far as mounting, your bronco should have acres of room for the pump and control valve, You may need to obtain a crank pulley/and spacer before you mount the pump. If you have a double pulley in the crank or water pump that was for smog pump and its not used now, you can utilize that. The bracket should mount for the pump on the DS of the engine, its not wicked critical if you don't have the bronco bracket, but a bracket should be made and mounted to engine block, powersteering pump, or to of manifold, Make sure the belt on the plow pump runs true with the engine pulley, and that you can make adjustments as the belt stretches.
Most valve controlers of this type can be mounted on the front DS fender well, make sure your lift and angle hoses will reach through your grille to hook up.
Just following up on this as I found this post when I did a google search for the problem that I was having and it got me going in the right direction to figure out my problem so I though I'd share my solution. Fist though I just want to say that adjusting valves is more than just turning it all the way in and then backing it out some pre-determined amount to do not use anyone elses settings and the recommended setting is meant to be a safe starting point only. Use a pressure gauge capable of 3000+ PSI to avoid damage to your pump, lines etc.

And most importantly people working near the plow. My problem was that the plow would sometimes go up very slowly and sometimes it would go up just fine. A lot of the backyard mechanis I had talked to thought it sounded like a valve sticking. All it turned out to be was the relief valve was set by the previous shop that I had the plow serviced at to the factory recommended 2-1/2 turns out. This was giving me only 950 or so PSI.
To raise the pressure I had to go to only 1-1/2 turns out. I don't know if this is symptomatic of another failing or failed component but for now my plow is working perfectly which is just how I like it. Hopefully it will get me through the rest of the season and then I will have it serviced by another Fisher dealer as I really do not need a place working on my plow that just simply turns the valves to where Fisher says to use as a starting point and then leaves them there without checking the pressure to verify that it is correct. Can anyone think of why I have to be in so far on the relief valve, or is this near where some of you are running. Others I've talked to seem to think 1-1/2 turns out is too far in. The pressure is good though so I'm gonna leave it there until someone gives me a good reason why I shouldn't.

Check your line pressure. I got a gauge at the Fisher dealer for around $80 and I keep it in my glove box along with a flat head screwdriver and the necessary wrenches to connect/disconnect the hydraulic lines. Make sure your pressure is within spec and adjust accordingly if necessary. I assume you replaced the o-rings at the same time as you replaced your filter? Those o-rings are what let the water in in the first place. I know you did and I know that you know that already. I'm more or less saying it so others reading the thread in the future understand it also.

As an afterthought, the first place the slush occurs is usually inside the lines themselves so your sluggishness may be a precursor to having slush inside the reservoir and thus cause your intermittent sluggishness. You may have already fixed that problem by doing what you've already done.
